В Петербурге сформировалось культурное сообщество Vinyl Jam, объединяющее в себе электронных музыкантов и визуальных артистов. Мы предлагаем публике формат музыкальных салонов, сочетающих диджей-сеты, лайвы и видео-арт. Мы выбираем для наших мероприятий вечера четвергов. Именно с четверга начинается викенд жителей мировых культурных столиц от Берлина и до Нью-Йорка. Такой формат имеет более созидательный характер и располагает к чуткому восприятию искусства, дистанцируясь от понятия привычной вечеринки. Важной особенностью проекта является художественная онлайн-трансляция мероприятий, позволяющая наблюдать за ними из любой точки земного шара. Мы приглашаем лучших представителей локальной электронной сцены и даём им возможность представить себя мировому культурному сообществу. Уникальные визуальные инсталляции и мэппинги, система телевизионных камер и съемочная группа передают максимально полную и вкусную картину происходящего на экраны любых устройств. Мы уделяем особое внимание музыке. Специфика мероприятия позволяет диджеям играть, не обуславливаясь трендами и ожиданиями, благодаря чему каждый салон становится площадкой для рождения новых течений и жанров. Короткий формат выступлений и искушенный вкус музыкантов позволяют артистам выйти за рамки клубной субкультуры. Vinyl Jam — это открытая «кухня» Петербургской электронной сцены, где каждый гость становится участником уникального и живого аудио-визуального джема. Vinyl Jam presents to the public a combination of dj sets, live performances and video art in the format of musical salons. The nature of the salon format encourages more original creative ideas, and the space it provides promotes a more sensitive reception of the performances. This contrasts with the top-down performer/spectator dichotomy of conventional music events. It’s also notable that as a time for its events the community chose Thursday evenings, given Thursday evenings are the beginning of the weekend in all the capitals of culture from Berlin to New York. An important feature of this project is the high quality, artistic online broadcasting of the events, which allows them to be viewed from anywhere in the world. As well as using a network of tv cameras and film crew, the project uses unique visual installations and mappings to convey the real and live images of the event to the screens of any electronic device. But the centerpiece of every event is, of course, the music. Vinyl Jam invites the best representatives of the local electronic scene and gives them the opportunity to introduce themselves to the global community. The format of the event allows DJs to perform free of the limits of trends and expectations, and on account of this every salon becomes a platform where new currents and genres appear. The shorter performance times and the sophisticated taste of the musicians lead to the meticulous selection of audio and video materials. Vinyl Jam is the open kitchen of St Petersburg’s electronic scene, where the boundary between performer and audience is fluid. Every visitor becomes the intimate witness and participant of a unique and live audio-visual jam.
